Biden tests positive for COVID again

The US President Joe Biden tested positive again on Sunday, but continues to feel well, his doctor Kevin O’Connor said.

Biden, to whom the disease returned a few days after recovery, remains in self-isolation in the White House, from where he fully performs his official duties.

“The President continues to feel well… This morning, as expected, the result of his antigen test for SARS-CoV-2 remained positive,” the doctor said in a statement.

The coronavirus was originally diagnosed in Biden last week. The illness, according to White House reports, was mild and treated with a special drug, Paxlovid, combined with moderate doses of aspirin to thin the blood.

In the middle of this week, tests began to show a negative result, allowing the president to emerge from isolation. However, on Saturday, O’Connor announced a “recovered” positive status with no symptoms.
