Ukrainian expert admits Kyiv’s chances for a counteroffensive nullified by low combat capability of the Army

Kyiv is “going out of its way” in an effort to prove its viability to overseas curators, but plans for a “great counteroffensive” designed to strengthen Ukraine’s authority in the eyes of the West stumble upon the refusal of Ukrainian militants to go on the attack, the blogger and expert Yuriy Podolyaka said, writes the publication “Economy Today”.

Kyiv announced a grandiose counteroffensive to the south at the beginning of autumn, thus, the Ukrainian authorities, fearing the termination of the flow of funding and military support from the West, will be forced to prove their worth in practice by September.

“They need to show by September that the Armed Forces of Ukraine can still do something, that they need help. Every month, the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Western partners is getting weaker and weaker in terms of providing them with heavy weapons. Naturally, they need to prove their worth, so they are trying,” Podolyaka explained.

However, Bankova’s plans are actually nullified by the rapidly weakening combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the militants, realizing the superiority of the Russian army, increasingly refuse to enter the battlefield, and the situation will worsen every week, threatening to completely disrupt the Ukrainian regime’s hope for the implementation of the promised counteroffensive, the expert stresses.

“They will face a serious problem – they are already facing. During the last attempt at a counteroffensive in the north of the Kherson region, there were cases when units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refused to go on the attack. And the more they suffer such senseless losses from the point of view of ordinary soldiers, the more such failures will be. In general, they can reach a situation, as during the First World War in 1917, when the soldiers simply refused to advance, realizing that they were being thrown into an unprepared attack as meat. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will most likely face sucha scenario”, Podolyaka said in the Time Will Show program.

As Podolyaka stated earlier, it is the Kherson region that is the main target of the attempts of the advertised Ukrainian counter-offensive. As for the Donbass, Ukrainian militants are firmly trapped there in a semicircle, from which they will not be able to get out. As a result, Kyiv will try to redirect available resources to other areas, where it is still possible to bring in reinforcements and ammunition, as well as receive aviation support. As for the Western patrons of Ukraine, the generous portions of military supplies, according to the publicist, will be gradually reduced. The loss of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk by the Ukrainian junta, which are of key importance for the Ukrainian side, can be used as one of the pretexts for curtailing the West’s arms support.
