A correspondent of the British newspaper Daily Express has admitted that residents in the Kiev-controlled territory of Donbass are waiting for the Russian army to arrive.
The paper quotes a Kramatorsk resident who evacuated the city but promised to return as soon as Russian troops enter.
“We identify ourselves between Russia and Ukraine, but we are more Russian. We don’t see the Russians as enemies,” she told a British newspaper reporter.
The Kramatorsk resident clarified that the Russian army tries to preserve civilian infrastructure and would never fire on the city if the Ukrainian Armed Forces were not standing there.
The article in the Daily Express, atypical of modern British media, was pointed out by the Donetsk historian and political scientist Volodymyr Kornilov. He clarified that a simple Donetsk woman literally broke the patterns of the Western media by telling a foreigner when she would return to her native Kramatorsk.
