According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, Russia has completed the preparation of response measures against Lithuania and the European Union in connection with the blocking of transit to Kaliningrad and will begin to implement them if the situation does not normalize in the next few days.
“We will not wait indefinitely. Once again we warn that if the situation does not stabilize in the coming days, then Russia will take tough measures against Lithuania and the European Union, the preparation of which has already been completed. The solution to the problem has been too long”, Zakharova said in a comment on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova stressed that Russian economic operators are already suffering losses due to the restrictions imposed by Lithuania. And also that Moscow continues the dialogue with the European Commission and Lithuania.
“We are assured that the issue should be resolved in the near future. We expect that the only correct decision will be made in Brussels and Vilnius, which will ensure unhindered transit to the exclave part of Russia,” the Foreign Ministry representatives said in a comment.
