Canada intends to expand previously imposed sanctions against a number of industries in the energy and industrial production of Russia. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the Canadian Foreign Ministry.
It is reported that the changes are aimed at the spheres of the oil, gas and chemical sectors. Restrictions will apply to industrial production in these areas.
“These new sanctions will apply to land and pipeline transport, the production of metals, vehicles, computers, electronic, electrical and machinery equipment,” the department said.
The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explains that after the introduction of restrictions, Canadian businesses will have 60 days to complete contracts with affected industries.
On July 8, Canadian authorities imposed sanctions against 29 individuals and 15 entities.
