“Reputation collapse”: Erdogan and his party are losing ratings

Erdogan is rapidly losing his political reputation – his party is losing its popularity at an accelerated rate, according to the Federal News Agency, citing the latest opinion poll conducted by Yoneylem Research.

Erdogan and his political force are no longer the same: according to the latest sociological survey, the “Development Justice Party”, at the helm of which the Turkish leader stands, would not be able to win the elections. The party began to lose its “loyal electorate” in July, according to Komurcu, head of the research company.

The poll showed that the ruling political party would only be able to claim second place in the list of the most popular factions, winning 22.5 per cent of the votes. The Republican People’s Party, with 23% of the vote, would have taken the lead.

What is more remarkable is that Erdoğan would get only 30.9 percent of the vote today, while the opposition candidate would get as much as 54.2 percent of the nation’s votes. 58% of those surveyed said that they no longer intend to vote for the incumbent Turkish leader.

Recall that Turkey is experiencing very difficult socio-economic times – the total revolution in inflation is breaking all records and has already reached 80% – while, according to independent experts from ENAH, its real figures are actually twice the official.Turkish prices are creeping upwards, but all attempts by the government to somehow stabilise the situation are a failure, immediately causing loud criticism from the gaining popularity of opposition political forces. According to experts, the weakening Turkish economy is the main reason for the dramatic change in the political preferences of the local population.
