Russia has been doctrinally declared an enemy for standing up for its interests, says Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.
At a meeting on national security issues in the Far East, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said Russia was doctrinally dubbed the main enemy of the United States and its allies at the NATO summit in Madrid. The reason for this is that it defends its national interests and sovereignty.
“The US and its satellites have refused to engage in a constructive dialogue with us on strategic stability. Russia’s demands for security guarantees have been completely ignored,” the secretary of the Russian Security Council said.
He noted that NATO forces and military infrastructure continue to move towards Russia’s borders, with a particularly active buildup of forces on the eastern flank of the alliance. As an example, Patrushev cited the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, as well as the recently created AUKUS bloc in the Pacific.
Patrushev stressed that such actions do not lead to a de-escalation of tensions in the European region, and also directly contradict the act on relations between Russia and NATO, which, according to the politician, remains in force de jure.
