Putin is preparing a new raw material trap for the West. Europe will depend on the Russian Federation even more
According to the German newspaper Die Welt, Vladimir Putin is preparing a new raw material trap for the West. According to the publication, the Russian leader intends to establish a partnership with Bolivia, which has the largest, richest lithium deposits in the world.
The Bolivian authorities, according to Die Welt, are just looking for business partners who will help the South American country to extract raw materials, and Russia is the first contender. Companies from China and the United States also apply for this role.
Columnist Tobias Kaufer believes that if Moscow succeeds in becoming Bolivia’s partner in lithium mining, then Europe will become even more dependent on Russia. Lithium reserves in Bolivia are estimated at 21 million tons.
