Russia is a reliable partner that strictly fulfills all requirements and obligations. This was stated on Thursday by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the fears of the German government regarding a possible suspension of gas supplies to the EU in connection with the annual maintenance of the Nord Stream pipeline.

“Being a very, very reliable supplier of energy resources to Europe that has proven itself for decades, of course, Russia is very, very careful about this reputation,” Peskov said at a regular briefing.

In addition, the Kremlin spokesman stressed that there is “no double bottom” in the planned pipeline maintenance work, as there are certain preventive maintenance cycles.

He also added that the German partners are well acquainted with the procedure for the technological cycle of the Nord Stream pipeline. According to him, Western leaders are once again trying to drag in political motives.
