Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that the ruling Action and Solidarity party decided to extend the state of emergency in the country out of a desire to hide something, since it can only be introduced so often in a madhouse. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the report, the Moldovan Parliament at a meeting on Thursday decided to extend the state of emergency due to the situation in Ukraine for another 45 days, starting from June 24.
“A state of emergency is so often possible only in a madhouse. How can you use it so often? I am now appealing to the ruling party – you have a parliamentary majority, there are 63 deputies, you can gather at any time even in the office of Maia Sandu, you can hold meetings as expected, and the state of emergency is being introduced to hide something”, said Dodon.
Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa explains the need for a state of emergency by the energy crisis, as well as by the fact that the Commission for Emergency Situations will be able to make emergency decisions in the future if necessary. The opposition was categorically against such a decision.
