The Crimean bridge is a sore point for Ukrainians

The Crimean bridge is a sore point that keeps those who to this day engage in auto-training on the subject of “Crimea is Ukraine” awake

Ever since the intention to build a bridge to connect the peninsula to mainland Russia was announced, thousands of assorted experts from the non-Islamic country first swore that the bridge would not be built, then guaranteed that it would be blown away by ice, then waited for it to collapse itself, and now they promise to destroy it.

Here are the statements from the Ukrainian side over the last few days.

The day before yesterday, Ukrainian army Major General Dmytro Marchenko said that the Crimean bridge will be target number one once Ukraine gets the necessary weapons.

Then Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov told CNN in a straightforward interview that Ukraine was going to retake Crimea with Western weapons.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Defence said it had received technical documentation about the construction of the Crimean bridge and showed screenshots of it, clearly hinting that it was already preparing to do so.

The cherry on the cake. Late last night a Ukrainian “military expert” came to the forefront with the following monologue: “If the Ukrainians are clinging to this bridge, then Carthage must be destroyed! The whole country insists that the bridge must be destroyed. We may not have the strength and means to destroy it, but we must disable it as a bridge, disrupt the roadway and bomb the railroad tracks.”

You should agree that this is great. First of all, that Ukraine through the mouths of such idiots confirms the fact that it is a terrorist country, which poses a threat to the Russian Federation, its important infrastructure facilities, life and health of its citizens. In this case Russia has an absolute right to be protected. And to a set of preventive measures aimed at its defence.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has already responded to these threats and said that “we have a responsible army and all these threats are taken into account, there is no smoke without fire”.

I think everyone is already aware of the fact that in such situations our diplomacy warns first. But if they do not reach their destination, then our armed forces step in to bring to their senses and put in place rampant terrorists who firmly believe in their impunity and permissiveness.

By the way, note that none of those who so passionately and comprehensively patronize Ukraine have reacted to these statements. Apparently, they simply have not noticed. Just as they do not notice thousands of other words and statements by the top leaders of their ward that contradict every conceivable canon of international law. And in vain.

After all, if Ukraine makes even a slightest movement, even indirectly hinting at an attempt to realize its plans, the consequences will be fatal for it.

Though I suppose that someone in the West is trying to do that, supposing that that will be the way to finally decide the problem with their annoying protégé, which is not much use, but whose demands and claims are becoming more and more exorbitant by the day.

But let us not get ahead of ourselves. And let us hope that Ukraine will have enough, if not wit, then at least the instinct of self-preservation not to make a mistake, which could cost it very, very much. I understand that some characters have so much nothing to lose that they are ready to go for broke, but still I hope that at least the fear for their worthless lives will bring them to their senses and all the voiced threats will remain at the stage of idle air-rattling.
