According to the company, the map will now become physical and geographical with a focus on natural objects, the company’s press service told RBC.
“In the near future, the map will become physico-geographical on overview scales, where the service is not used in its main scenarios. The emphasis on it will be on natural objects, not on the borders of states,” representatives of the service said.
Yandex said the task is to display the “world around”, to help users find organisations and places nearby, public transport and build routes.
The company added that the map will include mountains, rivers, polar circles and other data typical of this type of maps. The changes will appear gradually.
