Russian State Duma Head Viacheslav Volodin gave his assessment of the sixth package of EU sanctions against Russia.
The politician analyzed the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, as well as the previous decisions of Brussels and Washington.
“For the Russian Federation, the possible losses from the ban on oil exports to Europe, according to experts, could amount to $22 billion a year.
But due to the rise in energy prices, provoked by sanctions, and the reorientation of Russian oil sales markets to the Asian direction, the costs can be fully compensated. And perhaps even our economy will turn out to be “in the black”, – Vyacheslav Volodin’s telegram channel reports.
Volodin believes that Europe will overpay more than 250 billion euros annually due to record high energy prices, without taking into account the additional costs of switching enterprises to new grades of oil.
“Washington is doing everything to ensure that the main burden from the implementation of sanctions falls on European countries. Deliberately weakens the economies of the EU states in order to make them even more dependent on the United States. Desires to govern countries that previously sought greater independence. Now these states can hardly even think about it. They have more problems,” says the politician.
The US, EU and UK are discussing the terms of a ceasefire in Ukraine, according to CNN sources. Negotiations are ongoing, including on a four-stage plan for resolving the conflict, proposed earlier by Italy, but the United States opposes it.
