As a result of a set of measures taken by the Russian Navy, the mine danger in the water area of the port of Mariupol has been eliminated, and civilian ships can safely use the harbor.
From 08:00 (Moscow time) on May 25, 2022, the Russian Armed Forces opened a maritime humanitarian corridor in the Sea of Azov around the clock (length 115 miles, width 2 miles, coordinates: collection point – 46 ° 55′ N, 37 ° 29′ E; disbanding point – 45°08’N, 36°31’E).
Despite the conditions created by the Russian side for the safe exit of six foreign dry cargo ships previously blocked by Ukraine: “Tsarevna” (Bulgaria), “Azburg” (Dominican Republic), “Smarta” (Liberia), “Blue Star” (Panama), “Azov Concorde” ( Turkey), “Lady Augusta” (Jamaica) from the water area of Mariupol, the leadership of the countries of the ship-owning companies has not yet taken measures to withdraw these vessels.
We call on the diplomatic missions of Bulgaria, the Dominican Republic, Liberia, Panama, Turkey, Jamaica and the International Maritime Organization to effectively influence the owners of ships in the port of Mariupol to bring them to their places of permanent registration.
Head of the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters of the Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response – Head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.
