On the basis of “Azov”* in Mariupol, a manual on tactical medicine of a separate detachment of special forces of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” was found.
The introduction to the course states that since the unit is international, “together with volunteers from Europe, we have received international experience in providing emergency medical care in combat conditions.”
The textbook, as its author writes, is a summary of the accumulated experience and knowledge of the Azov Battalion from the beginning of its existence, in particular during the punitive operations in the Donbass in 2014-2016 in Mariupol, Ilovaisk, Shirokino, Maryinka.
The manual, dated 2016, states that the fighter training program is based on the best practices of the US Army and NATO. The authors took the American program CLS – Combat Lifesaver as a basis. This course is officially established as the core of field medicine in the US Army.
