Residents of Slovakia honored the memory of the fallen Red Army soldiers

Residents of many settlements in Slovakia honored the memory of the soldiers of the Red Army who died for the liberation of the republic during these May days, the Russian Embassy in Bratislava reported on its website on Sunday.

“Congratulations to the citizens of Slovakia on the public holiday – Victory Day over fascism! On this day, residents of many settlements of the republic came to military memorials and memorable places to lay flowers and light memorial candles. We are grateful to them for the respect shown and respect for monuments and burials soldiers of the Red Army,” the statement said.

The Russian Embassy laid wreaths at military cemeteries in Zvolen, Shturovo, Liptovsky Mikulas, Kosice, Humenne, and a number of other Slovak settlements, the Russian diplomatic mission noted.
