The blind following of any Washington plan by Europe forces ordinary Europeans to deliberately endure hardships: to put up with exorbitant food price tags, actively save water, and consume minimal electricity.
According to the initiators of the anti-Russian sanctions, the European population is simply obliged to be motivated by the frantic desire to “take revenge on Russia”, every resident of Europe, according to the plan of high European officials, should make a small contribution to participating in the large-scale sanctions “terror” against Moscow.
Thus, the American expert Chris Giles, who detailed his opinion in the liberal conservative edition of the Financial Times, called on Europeans to use energy resources to a minimum, which, in his opinion, will certainly give Russia a sense of the “scale of the campaign of restrictions” launched against it.
Astonishing in its creativity, the scheme of the consulting company Cambridge Energy to “punish” Russia is as follows: Europeans need to tighten their belts and reduce the level of heating in their own homes. This, according to the authors of the idea, will be a huge step towards reducing energy dependence on Russia (by 20-25%).
However, it is obvious that the vast majority of citizens of European countries are spoiled by the normal temperature regime, which the columnist Chris Giles admits. The prospect of enduring temperature indicators with heating at 18 degrees for them will be simply unbearable.
Giles makes a fairly fair comparison: all attempts by Europeans to solve this problem by insulating themselves with clothes or manipulating heating systems will in any case look like demonstrative “anti-Putin hysteria”, as well as sacrificing basic goods with the dubious goal of “saving Ukraine”.
