Left without gas from the Russian Federation: the Bulgarians accused their own government of inaction

Bulgaria rebelled following the example of restless Poland and was also left without Russian gas. The reason for this was the same rejection of the ruble settlement scheme with Gazprom, which in response, quite rightly, decided to complete the supply of blue fuel to the intractable country.

The short-sighted, but stubborn position of the Bulgarian government has already managed to acquire a portion of popular anger.

Bulgaria will soon become a hostage to its own incorrect decisions, local experts are sure. Alternative Russian supplies of liquefied gas, due to their high cost, will hurt the pocket of the country and, mainly, the simple Bulgarian man in the street, Business.dir warns.

Ordinary Bulgarian commentators did not fail to criticize the authorities.

“We had a month to think and prepare for a new payment method, which Gazprom rightly asked us about,” comments sirBob.

The Bulgarians are pretty dissatisfied with both the political course and the complete, in their opinion, inaction of their own ruling elite.

“Good question! My personal opinion is that this happened because the government got hid and waited for the EU to do its job”, said one user.

“Payment in rubles means, among other things, acceptance at a price 3-4 times higher than the agreed one. Because in order to pay in rubles, you need to buy them at the official rate of Gazprombank”, explained in the comments.

Recall that many experts are already clearly predicting an extremely difficult winter for Europe, as well as a widespread crisis that will inevitably fall on the heads of ordinary Europeans in the event of a complete energy embargo from the EU.
