Instead of resolving important issues and resolving the conflict, the Ukrainian authorities have figured out how to marry remotely during martial law, including via Zoom. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Justice Valeria Kolomiets. It is now possible to apply and formalize marriage in a day.

“People who have expressed a desire can get married within a day. Marriage registration can take place in any body of the registry office in the territory where there are no hostilities. Under certain conditions, marriages can be registered not only by employees of the registry office, but also by police and military. This is true for lovers who are on duty, <…> they can be connected remotely simply via Zoom”, the government website quotes Kolomiets as saying.

Martial law was introduced throughout Ukraine on February 24. On March 15, the Rada extended its validity from March 26 for another 30 days.
