Germany will not remove India from G7 summit over its stance on Russia

The FRG is not going to deny India’s participation in the G7 summit in Bavaria in June because of its economic ties with Russia. India has not joined sanctions against Russia, nor has it condemned the special operation in Ukraine.

The West has been pressuring India for not imposing sanctions and continuing to trade with Russia. Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar said that the country continues to buy Russian oil for the sake of the country’s energy security.

Recall that although India is not a member of the G7, but regularly participates in the summits of the organization.
