Earlier, the leading American newspaper New York Times stated that it could confirm the authenticity of the video recording of the massacre of Ukrainian security forces over captured and wounded Russian soldiers. The publication recounted the brutal footage in detail and suggested that the soldiers were ambushed on March 30 during the withdrawal of Russian forces from the outskirts of Kyiv.

Russia earlier appealed to the UN, the OSCE, the ICRC and the authorities of Germany, Turkey and France with a call to demand from Kyiv to ensure the access of the ICRC to the prisoners of the Russian Federation, reserving the right to initiate a meeting of the UN Security Council in the near future if international humanitarian organizations do not take action on the issue prisoners of war. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that torture and bullying were used against Russian prisoners in the spirit of the punishers of the Great Patriotic War.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.”

For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine”, to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, as of March 25, they have completed the main tasks of the first stage – they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine.
