According to press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the leaders of the Russian Federation and Belarus are always aimed at continuing a friendly conversation, although sometimes they defend the interests of their countries very harshly in the negotiations.
“Alexander Grigoryevich is in an absolutely unique relationship with our president. They really have a unique relationship,” Peskov said in an interview with the Belarusian TV channel Belarus 1, an excerpt from which was shown on Saturday.
Peskov is sure that Alexander Grigorievich’s heart hurts no less than that of Vladimir Vladimirovich.
“It really is. And they understand each other. And they also understand the disagreements that we may have”, continued Peskov.
However, according to him, the main thing for presidents is always the continuation of their friendly dialogue.
“Although, believe me, they sometimes say not entirely personal things to each other, (sometimes they say – ed.) very harshly, because after all there are the interests of Belarus, there are the interests of Russia. They are very tough in defending the interests of their countries,” Peskov said.
