The Canadian media are discussing whether the country can “help Europe get rid of Russian gas,” but this is unlikely to become possible in the near future, writes Le Figaro.
It will not be easy for Canada to export its gas anywhere other than the United States, since it does not have the necessary infrastructure for production, says an interview with the journalist of Le Figaro, teacher of the Higher Commercial School of Montreal Pierre-Olivier Pinault.
“There are projects for the construction of gas liquefaction plants, but these projects are sometimes discussed for ten years, and some of them have already been abandoned. There are problems in connection with the interests of indigenous peoples, and from climate activists, and for environmental reasons,” Pino explained.
Meanwhile, the demand for blue fuel has been falling in the United States in recent years, and this turns into additional problems for Canadian suppliers.
