The process of demining settlements passing under the control of the Donetsk People’s Republic may take several decades, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic said.
“Given the area of the liberated territories, the density of mining and the number of unexploded ordnance, mine clearance will take a lot of time, perhaps even several decades,” the department noted.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR reported that since March 2, more than 1,400 explosive objects have been found during an examination of areas that have come under the control of the DPR. In total, employees of the pyrotechnic work detachment surveyed more than 60 hectares of territory during this time.
