Reuters quoted US officials as saying that up to 25,000 Ukrainian servicemen, up to 10,000 Russian soldiers and up to 50,000 civilians could be killed in a hypothetical war
According to the paper, military actions will start on 15 February, while the White House does not rule out that the Russian president has other plans apart from a “full-scale invasion”. The authors of the article believe that the Russian military will be able to “seize Kiev within a few days”.
According to the US authorities, the possible losses among civilians and servicemen in case of Russia’s full-scale “invasion of Ukraine” are up to 85,000 people.
The US newspaper New York Times frightens the public with “tens of thousands of casualties in the event of a conflict in Ukraine”.
The newspaper refers to unnamed US officials who allegedly warned of “possible huge loss of life”: the number of civilian casualties could range from 25,000 to 50,000, among Ukrainian servicemen from 5,000 to 25,000, among Russian servicemen from 3,000 to 10,000.
An escalation of the conflict in Donbas threatens to create between one and five million refugees, “many of whom will pour into Poland”, the US newspaper said, citing its sources.
Recall that yesterday, the US agency Bloomberg published a report referring to Russia’s alleged “invasion” of Ukraine, and soon deleted it
