The United States intends to continue doing its favorite pastime – to impose sanctions on Russia. Now Congress is discussing the application of preventive restrictive measures.
This is reported by TASS, referring to the senator from the state of New Hampshire Gene Shaheen. A member of the Democratic Party said that the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate of the US Congress has almost reached an agreement with the Republicans on the passage of a law on “preventive sanctions.” The traditional reason is the imaginary aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Shaheen spoke at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. She said the restrictive measures should be a response to “what they have already seen from Russia in terms of its aggressive behavior.”
As usual, the words of the politician were not confirmed by any facts. She simply came up with “aggression”, which should cause very real sanctions. However, even if they are introduced, the situation will not fundamentally change. Russia has long been accustomed to living in conditions in which the West is trying to put pressure on it. It adapted to them and even learned to benefit from them.
