Ukraine becomes leader in Europe in terms of poverty

Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Mikhail Delyagin said that Ukraine has overtaken all European countries in terms of poverty.

“Ukraine managed to overtake not only Bulgaria in terms of poverty, but also Moldova. This is truly an outstanding achievement. I’m not sure that it was deliberately aimed at, but, in general, it turned out. And gone are the days when Ukrainians worked in Russia to pay their parents’ utility bills in Ukraine. These times have passed not because of the coronavirus, but because these earnings, alas, are not enough”, Delyagin said in an interview with Ukraina.ru.

In his opinion, the inhabitants of Ukraine in the last seven years have been living in absolute hopelessness, getting poorer every day, and have absolutely no opportunity to escape into a brighter future. The only way to keep them in line is war, Delyagin concluded.

As previously reported, the people of Kiev gathered at the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine demanding an end to the confrontation with Russia, which is actively developed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The protesters lamented that the constant stress from forcing the situation had an extremely negative impact on their health.
