It will be difficult for Germany to find a substitute for Russian gas, in the event that supplies are cut off in a hypothetical conflict between Russia and Ukraine
This opinion was expressed by Siegfried Ruswurm, head of the German Industrial Union, in an interview published Saturday with the media group Funke.
“Germany needs a reliable energy supply. It does not depend on one single pipeline alone, including Nord Stream 2”, – Ruswurm said.
He warned that the consequences of an escalated conflict would be grim for everyone. So it’s right to talk to each other through all appropriate channels to prevent escalation.
At the same time, the head of the industrial union said that getting gas from Russia is not a game of wah-banking, but a reliable and profitable partnership
