U.S. carrier strike group to lead NATO exercise in Mediterranean

The forces of the North Atlantic Alliance intend to conduct exercises in the Mediterranean Sea. Large-scale exercises will begin on Monday, January 24.

This is reported by the publication “Correspondent”, referring to the press secretary of the United States Department of Defense John Kirby. Neptune Strike 22 maneuvers will last until February 4th.

“Carrier Strike Group Harry Truman will be placed under NATO operational control and will be the centerpiece of this long-planned exercise,” he said.

The exercises involve ships, submarines and naval aviation. The purpose of the maneuvers is to improve the interaction of NATO countries in naval battles.
