Poland breaks new record in COVID-19 incidence

Over the past day, more than 36,000 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Poland, which was a new record in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

“In Poland, 36,665 cases of coronavirus infection were registered per day. Also, 248 fatal cases of the disease were registered”, said Waldemar Kraska, Deputy Minister of Health of Poland.

According to him, more than 1,300 people fell ill with a new strain of coronavirus infection “omicron”. The deputy minister added that within the next two weeks, omicron will completely replace the currently most common delta strain.

Earlier it was reported that more than 1.13 million new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the United States. Experts note that the number of cases can lead to a crisis in hospitals.
