The head of the United States Department of State, Anthony Blinken, intends to visit Ukraine tomorrow, January 19.
This is reported by the Ukrainian edition of “Zerkalo Nedeli”, citing its sources. The diplomat will arrive in the capital of the country, but it is not yet known what exactly he intends to discuss with the Ukrainian authorities.
While the authors of the material assume that the main topic will be security issues. In addition, it is possible that once again they will raise the topic of military assistance from Washington and the likelihood of its expansion. There could also be new sanctions on Russia in the event of the supposed invasion that Ukraine and the United States are eagerly awaiting.
It is worth noting that Blinken intends to have a conversation with the Russian side before visiting Ukraine. Thus, the Kommersant publication claims that today the American Secretary of State will have contact with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
