The head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, visited Kiev last week, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by CNN.
“Director Burns made a pre-scheduled visit to Kiev last Wednesday, where he held consultations with intelligence colleagues amid fears of a further Russian invasion of Ukraine,” CNN reported, citing U.S. administration sources.
In recent months, Western media have repeatedly announced a possible Russian “invasion” of Ukrainian territory. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stressed that Moscow is moving troops exclusively on its territory and such reports are “empty and unfounded escalation of tension.”
As News Front previously reported, Canada sent a detachment of special forces to Ukraine. The unit was tasked with developing plans for the evacuation of Canadian diplomatic personnel in the event of a full-scale invasion.
