The US State Department has asked energy companies how to supply Europe with gas in the event that supplies from Russia are blocked as a result of a hypothetical “Russian-Ukrainian military conflict.”
This was reported by Reuters, citing its sources in the US administration and energy companies.
According to available information, the US State Department held a meeting with energy officials, at which they talked about a plan of action in such an emergency as the cessation of gas supplies from Russia to the European Union due to a hypothetical “conflict in Ukraine”.
In response to a question from diplomats about how to replace the volumes of gas supplied by Gazprom to Europe, representatives of energy companies explained that this was impossible, since world gas supplies are very limited.
Earlier it was reported that it became known when the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline could be launched.
