A man suspected of financing terrorist activities has been detained in the capital of the Russian Federation.
This is reported by the Izvestia publication, referring to the department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for Moscow and the Moscow Region. The detention took place today, January 14, in Moscow.
A man born in 1978 and Dagestan raised funds for the Islamic State* (IS*) group. This information was confirmed by previously detained militants. They said that from 2014 to 2017, the suspect transferred money to the accounts of the organizers of the gathering and transferred it personally.
The man is now in custody. For financing terrorists, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
