Political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy format countries – France and Germany – will visit Kiev next week. The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, said this on Sunday.

“And next week my colleagues from France and the FRG, political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy format countries, will come to Kiev”, –  he wrote on Facebook.

Yermak also said that he had “held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor’s foreign policy adviser Jens Pletner and French President Emmanuel Bonne’s diplomatic adviser over the past two days.” “We agreed to continue coordinating our actions in the context of the current situation,” he added. According to Zelensky’s office, he also spoke with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried afterwards and “discussed the current situation around the Ukrainian borders and security aspects”.

Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, held talks in Moscow on Thursday with Pletner, foreign policy adviser to the German chancellor, and Bonn, diplomatic adviser to the French president. The meeting was held at the invitation of the Russian side. Kozak said after the talks that the sides had agreed on further contacts, including with Ukraine, to end the conflict in the east of the country as soon as possible. The interlocutors also said that it was necessary to achieve full implementation of the Minsk agreements on the settlement in Donbas.
