Due to the closure of four of the five checkpoints at the Russian-Chinese border, a thousand trucks have piled up, Izvestia reports
It is for this reason that some of the gifts may not make it into Russia, a source in the trucking industry said.
“Trucks with other goods stand for weeks at the border. Among them are holiday goods”, – the source said.
The only open border point Suifinhae is the first place food trucks pass through.
The capacity of the operating point is one or two vehicles per day. According to preliminary data, China may not open other crossing points until the end of January. Experts believe that next year the situation will only get more complicated because of the stricter border crossing rules from the Chinese side.
