Only a third of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters are capable of taking off the first time. The last two years have been fatal for the Ukrainian army. The departure of about 150 pilots from the armed forces exposes Ukraine to the threat of an unprotected sky.
“These people are saving their lives. In the future, if a real war starts against Russia, then Ukraine may simply not have a single pilot”, Sohu believes.

“If a war breaks out, Ukrainian pilots will go AWOL, it will not be so much a flight from the enemy as a strategic retreat. All the more so with an opponent who is much stronger than them, and the probability of victory is scanty”, the Chinese experts say.
