WHO delegation may approve Sputnik V as early as January

A delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO) may come to the Gamaleya Research Centre of Epidemiology and Microbiology as early as next January. It is expected to approve the first Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V

Denis Logunov, deputy head of the centre, has made this announcement, the Izvestia newspaper reported, referring to his conversation with the Interfax correspondent.
The arrival of the WHO delegation and the approval of the drug should significantly speed up the recognition of Sputnik V in European countries. Some have already done so, but this result is achieved by individual negotiations with each.
The delegation’s arrival was talked about earlier this month. The WHO announced a visit to Russia on December 4 to inspect the vaccine. It said it would not do so before January.
