The Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection Sputnik V is the most effective and safest drug in the world, said Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), in an interview with Izvestia newspaper.
“The most recent data show that [Sputnik V] is the best, most effective and safest vaccine in the world,” Dmitriev said.
According to the head of the RDIF, data from clinical trials of the drug, which were carried out by specialists in Hungary, indicate that Sputnik V protects against death from coronavirus infection by 98%. Dmitriev added that the Russian vaccine lasts much longer than other drugs, and also has an extremely small number of side effects.
The Sputnik V vaccine was developed in 2020 by specialists from the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry and Technology. The Russian drug against coronavirus infection is based on the adenovirus platform, which ensures high efficiency and safety. At the moment, 102 countries have allowed entry of persons vaccinated with Sputnik V.
