Expert says new Russian weapons will change the balance of power not in favor of NATO

A US Marine made a disappointing prediction for NATO about Russia’s new hypersonic weapon.

In his opinion, hypersonic weapons will significantly complicate the situation on the eastern flank for the North Atlantic Alliance, and the development of hypersonic technologies in Russia is fraught with a serious threat to NATO, which is not yet fully realized by the Alliance countries led by Washington.

“In early October, a hypersonic missile was first launched from a submerged position, from the Severodvinsk submarine. This latest triumph completed the formation of the Russian hypersonic triad. And at the same time, the United States continues to fight for the slightest success in testing similar weapons”, – said an observer from the United States.

Russian hypersonic systems – Avangard, Zircon and Dagger – are mature, and large-scale deployment can be expected in the near future, Jorge Rivero said. This is dangerous because neither the United States nor any other country in the world has effective defense against such missiles.

At the same time, the value of hypersonic technologies for the defense sector may turn out to be even higher than is commonly believed. According to the American expert, Russian experts foresaw the clear advantages of hypersound for the creation of operational military systems. However, the creation of an arsenal of tactical hypersonic weapons is not far off.

“Such missiles would allow the Russian military to easily attack command posts, artillery batteries and other critical US infrastructure. At the same time, the American command, most likely, will not have the capabilities for retaliatory actions, since the Pentagon is still only struggling to test hypersonic developments”, the Marine said.

In his opinion, now the US and NATO are witnessing only the initial stages of the introduction of hypersonic technologies in the defense sphere, but Moscow will not stop there.

“Russia will equip every combat platform in its arsenal with hypersonic missiles to outpace the American missile defense,” the author of the article believes.
