Serial production of Zircon hypersonic missiles began in Russia

The Reutov NPO Mashinostroyenia has started serial production of the newest Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles for the Russian Navy. This is reported by TASS, referring to its source in the military department.

“The serial production of Zircons is already underway at NPO Mashinostroyenia, although state tests of this product from a surface carrier will continue,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

In early November, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a defense meeting in Sochi, announced that from 2022 the Zircon missile would enter service with the Navy. According to TASS, state tests of the cruise missile will begin in November and continue in December.

As previously reported by News Front, in October the Russian Navy tested the Zircon hypersonic missile. Experts noted that the launch of a hypersonic missile has deeply agitated the United States.
