The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demanded to refute the statement of the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev on the Crimean peninsula.
As previously reported by News Front, Radev, during a debate with his main rival in the post of head of state, Anastas Gerdzhikov, said that he considered the Crimean peninsula a part of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Bulgarian ambassador to Kiev Kostadin Kodzhabashev and “brought to the diplomat’s position on the incorrectness and inadmissibility of President Radev’s statements on Crimea during yesterday’s televised debates.”
“The words of the current president do not contribute to the development of good-neighborly relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria, and also sharply discord with the official position of Sofia in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We expect the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev to refute his yesterday’s statement”, the Foreign Ministry said.
