Political scientist Rahr: the new German Chancellor needs to urgently resolve the migration crisis in the center of Europe

German political scientist Alexander Rahr commented on the situation during which the new German chancellor takes office. Europe is in the midst of a migration crisis that Olaf Scholz and his government will have to deal with.

In his Telegram channel, the expert noted that on the one hand, he cannot afford to start his work with a humanitarian disaster. However, he is also able to do something effective – Scholz will not be able to influence the Poles and demand that migrants be admitted.

“We will have to take the suffering from Belarus to Germany by plane, but the Germans will not agree to direct negotiations with Lukashenko. Or Germany and the EU will pay the Turks and Iraq, their national airlines, to take refugees from Belarus back. This is the best option for Germany”, says Rahr.

He stressed that Scholz has very little time left to resolve the problem in the center of Europe. Warsaw is doing everything possible to build a geopolitical conflict out of a humanitarian catastrophe. She will use it to attract NATO forces, and the US and UK will gladly support her.

“Lukashenko will be turned into another Gaddafi, Milosevic or Hussein. But military action against Belarus is not possible. The atomic power of Russia is behind Belarus”, the political scientist stressed.

Rahr summed it up: all parties in this disagreement must pull themselves together and prevent the situation from getting completely out of control. An armed conflict, which can lead to catastrophic consequences, must not be allowed.
