Great Britain urged European countries to unite against “Nord Stream-2”

British Foreign Minister Liz Truss called on European countries to jointly oppose the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, which was completed back in September.

“I want our friends all over Europe to join us. This means that we will together, for example, oppose the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline”, – said the British Foreign Minister.

In her opinion, the gas pipeline “undermines European security, allowing Russia to strengthen control over those countries that depend on its gas.”

In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, it is important to have diverse supply chains to avoid strategic dependence on “unreliable partners,” Truss said.
