Polish president hopes for NATO support on border with Belarus

Warsaw is counting on NATO support for the situation on the border with Belarus, “not militarily, but there are other options,” President Andrzej Duda said after a meeting in Warsaw

“NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg asked me this morning to stay on the hotline, to keep him informed about the development of the situation (on the border with Belarus – ed.), whether an escalation which could serve as a basis for action by the Alliance is starting there. Of course, we are not talking about military (actions), there are possible other forms of support. Right now there is no such thing, we are in control of the situation”, –  Duda said.

He also thanked NATO for its readiness and support for the country.
