Germany says Nord Stream 2 must be launched as a matter of urgency

German gas consumers feel an urgent need to launch the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, Klaus Ernst, a member of Germany’s previous Bundestag from the Left-wing party

“The fact that Nord Stream 2″ is now virtually complete, and all that remains is to get approval from the Federal Network Agency – this is huge progress. Obviously, now the gas that Germany needs will be able to supply at reasonable prices”, –  Ernst said.

The gas from NSP2 will cost the Federal Republic of Germany less than, for example, “American gas that is produced with the fracking method”.

“For our consumers and to ensure sufficient gas for the EU, there is now an urgent need to get the pipeline up and running”, –  he summed up.
