State Duma advised U.S. not to test Russia for strength

The State Duma of the Russian Federation reacted to the passage of US warships off the coast of Crimea.

MP Mikhail Sheremet, who represents the peninsula, noted that the States should not test Russia for strength and swim near its borders. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.

“We do not advise American ships to follow in the footsteps of the British destroyer and violate the boundaries of our territorial waters off the coast of Crimea, trying to show support for Ukraine. It is absolutely unsafe to misbehave at our borders. You shouldn’t wave torches near powder barrels”, he said.

The US Navy destroyer Porter with cruise missiles on board and the command ship Mount Whitney are now in the Black Sea. The forces of the Russian fleet are monitoring them in order to prevent any provocations at their sea borders.

Sheremet stressed that if the Americans dare to take such a step, the response will follow immediately and any aggressive actions “will be nipped in the bud.”

The deputy also noted that the Russian Federation does not want any conflicts and believes that any problem should be solved in dialogue. All the weapons she has are created and used only for protection.
