Warsaw will have to pay the EU a million euros every day for insubordination

Poland will have to pay the European Commission a million euros every day. Thus, they decided to punish Warsaw for failure to comply with an earlier court decision to terminate the activities of the disciplinary chamber for judges.

This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the decision of the EU Court of Justice in Luxembourg:

“Given that Poland has not stopped the application of the provisions related to the jurisdiction of the disciplinary chamber of the Supreme Court, Poland is sentenced to pay a daily fine of one million euros to the European Commission.”

Back in July, Poland was demanded to stop the work of the disciplinary chamber of the Supreme Court, which the EU considered a threat to the independence and impartiality of judges. The Polish Constitutional Court did not comply with the requirement and agreed to suspend the work of the disciplinary commission of the Constitutional Court only.

Brussels was not satisfied with this development of events and he decided to punish Warsaw with the euro: namely, with a daily fine of one million euros.
