Ukraine has come up with a way to accuse Russia of receiving poor quality gas from consumers. The idea was expressed by the head of the Union of Consumers of Utilities of Ukraine Oleg Popenko
In a conversation with the UBR.ua news and analysis website, he said that this was due to the fact that Russian fuel was being mixed with Ukrainian fuel, RIA Novosti reported. Thus Kiev decided to continue the silly tale of “dirty Russian gas”.
Popenko said that the fuel from Russia comes dirty, while the Kiev authorities valiantly try to save its quality and mix Ukrainian gas with it.
As usual, the “expert” did not provide any evidence for his unsubstantiated accusations. Instead, he simply invented a reason and again shifted the responsibility for the disastrous situation in the country to Russia.
Gas from Russia is used by half the world, including European countries. And no one except Ukraine has ever argued that it is allegedly dirty. And the only people who have ever had a problem with burning gas have always been the Ukrainians. Perhaps it is worth reflecting upon and realising that the problem is not with Russia at all.
Earlier, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said that the country could switch to its own gas production in order to gain “gas independence” from Russia. In theory Kiev could meet its own needs, but to develop this idea requires huge funding, which the country’s authorities do not have.
