The operator of the Nord Stream-2 AG project reported that the first string of the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is filled with technical gas, while the second string is undergoing commissioning.
“As of October 18, the procedure for filling the first string of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline with gas was completed. In accordance with the plan and design requirements, the line is filled with so-called technical gas in the amount of approximately 177 million cubic meters, which provides a pressure level of 103 bar in the pipeline. This pressure is enough to start transporting gas in the future”, Nord Stream-2 AG said.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak noted that the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 has nothing to do with the gas crisis that is currently taking place in Europe. According to political scientist Alexander Rahr, European countries should support Nord Stream 2 instead of fighting it to their own detriment.
